The nearest station is Kinosaki Onsen Station, close to the Sea of Japan.
From there, lodgings are lined up along the swaying willows of the Oya River.
The whole area has a wonderful atmosphere! Kinosaki Onsen is a hot spring resort town that has developed under the concept of “the station is the entrance, the street is the corridor, the inn is the guest room, the souvenir shop is the store, and the out-spa is the large bathhouse”, with the entire town regarded as a single inn.

The charm of Nishimuraya Honkan is that you can enjoy its history and atmosphere. In fact, a part of this inn is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
One of them is the old-fashioned gate and the board fence that goes around it. The gate was built in the early Showa period (1926-1989), but once you pass through it, you will feel that the air inside is different, and it is a gate to an extraordinary place.
As a long-established inn that has been in business for more than 150 years, there are rooms in the inn that display paintings and calligraphy by Munakata Shiko and Ito Hirobumi, as well as vessels by Rosanjin and Kawai Kanjiro.
It is a good idea to take your time to appreciate them after unpacking.
The room with the open-air bath, “Kanzuki-no-ma,” is the room where you can experience the essence of the hotel.
