Oarai, Ibaraki Prefecture, is located not far from the city center, but combines the peaceful and relaxing
atmosphere of a farming village with the magnificence of the rich fishing grounds nurtured by the Pacific Ocean.
The “Rikai-tei Kinparo Hontei” is nestled in the magnificent ocean and the forest of the Shinto shrine that has been
nurtured along with the Oarai Isomae Shrine, which has been revered for millennia.
Although it is still a young ryokan, having opened only five years ago as an inn where you can relax and have a good
night’s sleep on the beach, its predecessor, Kinnamaro, is a long-established ryokan with a long history dating back
to the Meiji Era (1868-1912).
The spirit of hospitality and serenity backed by 120 years of history has been passed down throughout the inn, while
modernity and convenience have been added with its new incarnation.

The magnificent unobstructed view of the ocean is breathtaking, made possible by the proximity to the edge of the
waves.
Lounging on the chairs on the wooden decks in all rooms, you can enjoy nature therapy all to yourself with the
sounds of the ocean, the sea breeze, and the scent of the seashore.
The bath time in the large public bathhouse with the sea breeze is also exceptional.
The bathtubs are filled with boiling water drawn from the clear spring water of the Oarai Isomae Shrine, which has
been here for 1,100 years, and you would almost think you were in an infinity pool at a luxury resort overseas.
You will lose track of time as you gaze at the ever-changing colors of nature while enjoying the mysterious feeling
of openness, as if you have become one with the sea and the sky.
