The Zao mountain range is known for its emerald green water called “Ogama.
Togatta Onsen, which stretches at the eastern foot of the mountain, has long been visited by people as a base for religious mountaineering and as a therapeutic hot spring resort.
Chikusenso Onsen, located further west from the center of the spa town, is an inn nestled in a forest of about 20,000 tsubo.

Meals are served in a restaurant named “Kamadogami.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of rice and vegetables grown in the subsoil water of Zao and fresh seafood, as well as kaiseki cuisine that emphasizes a sense of the seasons.
The main ingredient is Sendai beef, Miyagi’s finest brand beef.
Sendai beef, which has passed strict standards and boasts the highest grade A5 meat quality, is mild and full of juices.
