The three oldest hot springs in Japan, Shirahama Onsen, with a history of more than 1,300 years, and Oyuya, an indoor bath with a hinoki cypress bath and free-flowing hot spring water, are proposed as two of the best hot springs in Japan.

In particular, the Oyuya is Kaifune’s signature indoor bath where you can enjoy two types of hot springs: the “Aiki Onsen,” a hot spring of revival, and the “Bunju Onsen,” a hot spring of wisdom.

There are four different room types: Hamaya-kazari, Hamaya-kazari maisonette, Nami-no-shou, and Ake-no-shou, all of which offer views of the ocean.

In particular, the Hamaya remote room is the closest one to the ocean in the Hamachidorinoyu Kaifune, so you can enjoy the view from a location full of scale.

If you are staying at the Hamaya Maisonette, you will be able to enjoy a different view of the ocean in each room, which will give you a different kind of beauty.

For dinner, you can choose between “Shiosai,” which offers a boatload of dishes using seasonal ingredients from the sea and mountains, and “Umihotaru,” where you can indulge your taste buds in Japanese black beef raised in contact with the nature of the Kumano region.

The Japanese black beef in particular is one of the best in the country in terms of meat quality and flavor, and is a must-try.
