The more than 130 islands of various sizes floating around Katsuura Bay in Wakayama Prefecture are collectively called “Ki no Matsushima.
The inn introduced here, Kumano Villa Naka no Shima, is located on Naka no Shima, one of the Ki no Matsushima islands.
Nakanoshima is a small island with a circumference of about 1.7 km. As you can clearly see from standing in Katsuura Bay, the island is just a stone’s throw from the harbor.
Although it feels like it is right there, there is no other way to access it except by boat.
Once you arrive at the boat landing, the inn is already right in front of you.
Or rather, this is the only hotel on the middle island.
In other words, the entire island is the site of the inn, and it is a one-island, one-hotel location.
This makes me even more excited.

The attraction is the natural hot spring right in front of the sea!
When you arrive at the inn, be sure to go to the large open-air bath “Kishu Ushiomonnoyu” by the sea.
Once you step into the baths, you will be amazed at the scale of the baths! The bathtub is divided into three levels: the lower level, which is almost splashed by the waves, the middle level, and the upper level, where you can enjoy natural hot spring baths surrounded by the roar of the sea.

Sometimes you can even see small fish swimming in the sea, and it is safe to say that a natural hot spring so close to the ocean is quite precious.
