From Okayama Airport to “Kurashiki Station” takes about 45 minutes by car or train.
A 10-minute walk from the station will take you to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.
The white-walled houses, the Edo style of architecture, and the rows of willow trees along the Kurashiki River.
This is truly a place where you can encounter the symbolic scenery of Kurashiki.
Ryokan Kurashiki is located in the center of Kurashiki’s Bikan Historical Quarter, an area so full of emotion that it is almost like stepping back in time.
The main building, a sugar wholesaler’s house and three rice warehouses built in the late Edo period (1603-1867) were renovated to blend in with the scenery of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, with its original tile roof, white walls, lattice windows, earthen floors, shutters, and zelkova pillars and beams.

The charm of Ryokan Kurashiki is its modern Japanese-style interior that evokes the atmosphere of Edo.
The interior of the inn has a beautifully modern impression while retaining the appearance of a wholesale store. The waiting lobby “Luncheon Room” is decorated with seasonal decorations, and during the cold winter months, a charcoal fire is lit to welcome visitors.
Also, outside, the Bikan Historical Quarter is right in front of the building. Looking out from inside the building, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time to the Edo period.
