Nasu Onsen Sanraku is a traditional Japanese inn where the Emperor Showa visited when he was Crown Prince.
It is said that the beauty of the view led him to choose Nasu as the location for his imperial residence.
Here we introduce the charms of Nasu Onsen Sanraku.

Nasu Kogen is located between Tokyo and Sendai. Nasu Kogen, which stretches at the foot of Mt. Chausu, the main peak
of the Nasu Mountain Range, has long been a highland resort with many villas and tourist facilities.
It is also known for the imperial residence of the royal family.
Sanraku is located in Nasu Hot Springs, near “Shika-no-yu,” the original hot spring in the Nasu Kogen hot spring
resort area.
The inn is a sukiya-style building with a Japanese-style atmosphere.
A total of 39 rooms are available, including special Japanese-style rooms with an open-air bath, rooms with a garden
open-air bath facing a Japanese garden, and spacious rooms with two separate rooms.

The charm of Sanraku is the large open-air bath.
Even if you have an open-air bath in your room, bathing in the large open-air bath, the inn’s specialty, is
exceptional.
Surrounded by trees, the large open-air bath is filled with natural stones and is a spacious structure of about 30
tatami mats.
Whether it is the season of fresh greenery or maple leaves changing color, you can enjoy a relaxing soak in this
large open-air bath and be at one with nature.
Moreover, the hot water at this inn is said to be drawn from a private spring that springs from the Oomaru-no-sawa
stream adjacent to the Imperial Villa.
The distance is 5.4 km.
The temperature of the water is lowered little by little until it reaches the inn, and finally the water is poured
into the bathtub at the proper temperature, without any heating, circulation, or filtration.
This is why you can enjoy fresh hot spring water to your heart’s content.

Kaiseki cuisine emphasizes a sense of the seasons.
The menu changes several times a year, and delicious ingredients of the season are carefully selected from all over
Japan.
Of course, we also use many local ingredients, such as highland vegetables unique to Nasu and prefectural rice grown
in the rich Kinugawa River system.
Local Mashiko pottery is also used for the tableware.
You will be able to taste the food with both your eyes and your palate.
