Fukudaya is located at the edge of Lake Biwa. It is a place where you can almost reach out and touch the vast surface
of the lake, which makes you wonder if it is not really a lake at all, but the ocean.
The name of the renovated inn is “Fukudaya,” the same as before.
However, the name has been changed to “Fukudaya,” and the entire 130-square-meter building is now available for rent.

In the past, it was a key point connecting the Kurihan Highway and lake traffic on Lake Biwa, and today, it is a
special place to spend time looking out over Lake Biwa.
So naturally, you can see Lake Biwa from anywhere in the building.
The sun shines on it, it waves in the wind, and the lake and the sky blend together.
You can spend a rich time while always feeling the scenery of the lake, which changes its appearance one after

The main course is a Japanese-style course meal using fresh vegetables the innkeeper procures from local farmers and
fishermen, Omi beef, and lake fish caught in Lake Biwa.
For example, in spring, wild vegetables and bamboo shoots are available. In early summer, a sweetfish is in season.
You can have a sweetfish, which emits a fresh aroma, grilled in the sunken hearth with salt.
You will be captivated by the crispy, savory skin and the sweetness of the plump meat.
