Koka City in Shiga Prefecture, which borders Kyoto Prefecture, is an area with a long history, including the
construction of “Shigaraki-no-Miya” by Emperor Shomu, and is about an hour drive from Osaka.
Passing through the Sukiya Gate, you enter the entrance. From the beautifully woven Ajiro ceiling to the wide,
polished floorboards, the beauty of Japanese architecture has already captivated you from the entrance.
In addition to the master bedroom with two queen beds, there are two Japanese-style rooms with futon beds, which can
accommodate up to 15 people.

The highlight is the “Irori no ma,” an amazingly large space.
The room has zelkova pillars, high ceilings, a modern wood-burning stove, and a table-type sunken hearth.
The spaciousness of the room, with its large sofa set, creates an indescribable sense of openness.
In contrast to the traditional main house, the bathroom and sauna were newly built in a renovated warehouse.
Both are so luxurious that it is hard to believe that they were prepared only for one guest per day!

of the ceiling panels reveals the thickness of the wood that has been used over time.

The meals served are “kaiseki-kappou,” a combination of traditional kaiseki cuisine and casual kappou (Japanese
cooking), both of which are based on one soup and three dishes.
You can enjoy “En” style cuisine that takes into account the seasonality of Shigaraki.
The inclusion of several obanzai dishes on the menu is also very unique.
Expectations are high for the unique taste of an auberge.
